The Tony Hawk Show will be taking over Paris this weekend with an exceptional event blending skateboarding, music and art hosted at the emblematic Grande Palais.
For two days on November 20th and 21st, this colossal construction of glass and steel, originally built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, will be home to Skaters, DJs and artists from all over Europe, with the international skateboard star, Tony Hawk himself at the lead.
Joining the impressive line up of DJ’s will be Quiksilver woman Mahara Mc Kay, who will be rocking the house on Saturday 21st from 19h30, while the celebrated and prolific Parisian graffiti artist, André, does a live painting performance on the skate ramp.
The photo exhibiton Quiksilver women by Bára Prášilová will also be part of the art programme of this event. This exhibition is the result of a trip that Bára took to London in March 2009 to create a series of portrait photos of five Quiksilver women ambassadors. Thanks to Bára’s photographs, balancing on the thin line between fashion and art, this exhibition allows for a non-intruding look inside the souls of the young artists and their worlds full of fantasies. In October 09, the collection exhibited for the first time at Prague’s Designblok, where it was awarded with a “Special Award for an extraordinary feat related to design occurring outside official categories”.
Exhibition hours (Entrance is free!): November 20th and 21st - 10am to 6pm
