I love travelling for Christmas and the beginning of a new year, it’s really exiting to live this magic moment in different places in the world. Last year for the first time I spent Christmas wearing a board short!

With Santa Claus on the beach. In Spanish, Portuguese, English, German! We are all united by the same story; we are in a mood of cheering. This is the best gift for my Christmas, being abroad!

Unfortunately this year I will stay in Paris because of a scooter crash! Nothing really bad, but my back hurts! Lucky for me I’ll have the time to think about my wish list!

Sometimes after the rain, when it is becoming lighter but still steamy, you can see the sun reflecting in the water and the mountains looking close enough to touch them with a finger. The leaves and the trees are brighter and greener and when you pass through, you can hear the leaves crackle and the water dripping, as if they were liven up.

We chose this particular moment to take pictures with our french ambassador Julie Boulanger who wears some products of the fall/winter 11 collection: the highlands plaid and the heigh hooded duffle coat.

The last two weeks were kind of busy for the Quiksilver women team, working on the new collections, touring with Charlotte O’Connor accross Europe, and working on aside projects. Still, we managed to come by the Quiksilver Pro France, not only to watch the competition, but also to take the temperature of those who were there, despite some cold foggy mornings and rainy days. And we found many Quiksilver for women products over there… take a look at the pics!

And to fight against the cold wind, we could see on the beach a lot of coats/beanies/scarves from our fall winter collection, which was really impressive!

How magical this recording session was! We were surrounded by fantastic people such as Marta, the sound ingenieer, Timo or Vincent…

Then we had a lot of fun doing the photoshoot with Timo, who I really appreciate working with each time I go to the south of France when he’s not travelling around the world for his job. Thanks to him, I feel so priviledged when he shares with me his experiences and I always feel like I’m a part of the world of pro surfers.

Shooting the videoclip “Catching un with Julie Boulanger” was really pleasant, but kind of hard to speak about myself! Vincent and I giggled a lot, but he did such an amazing job! I feel so proud of the outcome. We only had 3 days to record two songs, 3mn of videoclip and to do the photoshoot. It was short, hard work but I enjoyed it a lot…

Few months ago, I went to Saint Jean de Luz. It was very special to me because I was about to discover the brand new recording studio of Quiksilver!

The timing was perfect to Freckles and I: we had new songs, a new songwriter had joined the team and a tape cassette had just been launched at the Colette store in Paris so I was really happy to introduce my projects to the Quiksilver women team.

It was such an amazing excitement to discover this awsome recording studio! It was very diferent from the midnight special home studio where we had recorded the Freckles tape cassette.

Yes, you’ve read it well! a cassette player… that’s what you’ll need to listen to the latest recording of our brand ambassador Julie Boulanger and her band Freckles.

“Midnight Special Records” is a new Parisian music label specialised in Folk and Indie music. Their first publication is a “split” cassette with music of two bands that they’re friends with: FRECKLES and LLULLAILLACO.

Don’t know if we’ve told you this yet… but a recording studio has just opened at the Quiksilver European Headquarters in the South West of France… yes! a proper music recording studio, with top of the range material and a wicked sound engineer! Needless to say that WE ARE MORE THAN THRILLED!!!!! Music has always been close to our hearts, and what a better way to support our musician friends but to provide them with such a magical space?

A few days ago Quiksilver woman brand ambassador Julie Boulanger came over to record a couple of songs with her guitarist Andreas Carrere. Together they form the band Freckles. Stay tuned for some amazing musical performances on this blog… but in the meantime, take a peak into what went down…
