Ellie plays gig at London fashion industry event for Quiksilver Spring 2012 collection

Hello! I was recently asked by Quiksilver to perform at Pure, a fashion industry event in Earls Court, London! I got the chance to see and wear the Women’s Spring collection for 2012 so I jumped at the chance!! So many outfits to choose from I was in my element trying them on and singing my little heart out at the Quiksilver area and on the Catwalk stage! Loads of fun!

See the video for clips of the show which we have put with a new fun song we have recorded called Ba Da Da!

Hot Trend Alert

Old-school look with a new-age vibe!
.
So lately we’ve been noticing an incredibly fashion forward trend…. sunglass chains! Whether the chains are manually attached or fused to the frames themselves (Chanel), we are in love with this look. This not only keeps your shades safe from being scratched or lost but they look incredibly cool with your Quiksilver Women’s spring wardrobe!

” My Take: The York Military Jacket ” by Beth Jones

Every season there is one item that becomes my obsession – I can’t help but notice it everywhere, I can’t quit ripping out editorials featuring the look and I can’t stop wearing it. I know, I need help!

.

This season my obsession is the military jacket, and Quiksilver Women’s York version is to DIE FOR. It is everything I want in a military-inspired jacket – it has the drawstring waist, the patch pockets and the surplus green color I crave.

.

So yes, of course I picked one up – I couldn’t resist, and the great thing is that I don’t have to wait till the weather turns warm to take it for a spin. Nope. I wear it Now & Then.. and this is how I work it.

.

Now, I layer it with a striped tee, the QSW Karma destroyed ankle jeans, lace-up boots, and top it off for warmth with a fur vest and cozy black beanie.

.

Then, I will go easy and wear it with the QSW Wonderwall tank and the crazy love cutoff shorts. Keeping it cool with studded sandals and my sunnies!

A Day In The Life

Let me introduce myself on a more personal level, I am Beth Jones, Style Specialist for Quiksilver Womens. What exactly does that mean? I live and breathe my life as a stylist and work to collaborate often with the Quiksilver Womens team. I am here on the QSW Blog to give my perspective on how to wear each collection, what inspires me and to fill you in on the happenings of my life.

.

So today, I give you a peek into my world.

.

Currently, I am working with Quiksilver on an upcoming styling event (that you must stay tuned for) and also setting up for a photo shoot I am producing next week for my website, B. Jones Style. This photo shoot captures three women with whom I have been working with as a personal stylist and will showcase their individual style that we have built together.

.

I am excited to bring you more behind the scenes images and let you in on a day in my life as a stylist.

Feeding Your Fashion Soul

I am always on the hunt for new inspiration, and it can come from anywhere – photos in a magazine, art, graffiti, a sign, a man on the street playing his saxophone – ANYWHERE.

Today, inspiration came to me in the form of an amazing street style blogger. We know about the heavy hitters (The Sartorialist and Garance Dore) but this was a new discovery. Her name is Maya Villiger, and she is the creator of  the wondrous website Turned Out. Everyday she posts photos of the coolest, chicest girls prancing through the streets of NYC. I love seeing who catches her eye, but something else that draws me back is her collage creations.

Her collage creations are her inspirations as she hits the streets, and often she finds a girl living and breathing the look she modge podged with magazine clippings.

So if you are searching for some new inspiration look to Maya as she turns out these masterpieces that will feed your fashion soul.

Collages by Maya

She does it again !

Look who I spotted turning out ANOTHER amazing creation using the Biscay Dress from the Spring ‘09 collection. It’s Krystal Simpson, of course.

What I love about her look is that she perfectly combines some tomboy spirit with girlish glamour. On one end, we have a grey hoodie, skinny jeans and the easy striped Biscay Dress – but on the other hand, she has sequins peaking out from under the hoodie, gold booties and bright pink nails. What a mix/mash!

Why choose sides? You can play for team girl and team boy! Follow Krystal’s example and grab from your closet and your man’s.

How I wear It : St Mary Dress

It’s official! I am completely obsessed with stripes. I enter my closet and they take over – an entire section filled with stripes. When I saw the Quiksilver Women’s St. Mary Dress, I knew I would be adding it my collection. A perfect set of stripes in a perfect dress!

Jumping the gun on this spring-time dress, I had to think of ways to wear it now.. and then later. With the winter chill I will be pairing it a warm wooly knit cardigan, grey tights and platform lace-up booties. To mix in another color – I will pull on my cranberry colored hat and wrap on a scarf.

When the spring weather rolls around I will be pairing it with a grey boyfriend blazer and nude strappy heels. For a little unsuspecting spice I will pair it with a turquoise bow and cat-eye sunglasses.

I love the stripes both now and later.

Lovin’ the Yah Tank !

Kinda in love with my new Yah Tank from the Quiksilver Women’s Spring Collection. It was the perfect layer for my boyfriend blazer and menswear trousers.

I love that this tank will easily transition into spring, summer and back into fall. I imagine when the weather is perfectly toasty the layers will be shed, and I will be pairing it with my high-waist cut-offs and comfy flats. Until then I have a feeling this little layer will be showing up often.

Create a Diversion

OK.. it’s Thursday.. hump day.. your work week is getting old and you are looking for a diversion. So here it is!

The Diversion Dress.

This dress is the perfect way to approach the trail blazing trends of fall. Perfect in plaid with a lace trim slip peeking out to give it that pretty tough mix.

Now that you have been diverted from you work week, it is time to create a diversion wearing this dress paired with woolly socks scrunched down to your booties, a grandpa cardigan and your go-to trench.

Getting Dressed the QSW Way: The Cordoba Dress

The heat is finally kicking in and spring is in full force with summer waiting in the wings. One fabulous part of spring and summer is the musical festivals popping up all over the world. Days spent in the heat surrounded by thousands, rockin’ out to your favorite band and partying all night.

.

One key factor to musical festival madness is having the perfect “festival look”. Something cool for when the heat gets tough, something light for when the music takes over and all you can do is dance, and something fabulous so the “streetstyle” photographer can’t help but take your picture!

The solution to your festival foray - the Quiksilver Cordoba Dress With a hippie vibe, relaxed and slouchy drop-waist and cotton netting this little frock just needs to music to rock out.

.

Toss the Cordoba dress over your hot new bikini, grab a straw bag, squeeze your feet into some gladiators and you are one hot hippie-chic - if only it were the woodstock days….
